Vernors Ginger Soda, the original barrel tasting ginger ale with a kick. I haven’t had Vernors for a long time as Seagrams dominates the ginger ale products at the store here in Youngstown. However, my wife Patty, the money behind the Grassy Knoll Institute brought home a couple of two liter bottles of Vernors New Years Eve to mix with our traditional punch to toast in the new year.
Vernors is not your typical ginger ale. When first opened, Vernors bubbles and hisses much like champagne. A distinct pleasant odor waffles in the air. If you get your nose to close to the opening it will make you cough. Vernors is also a darker color, almost caramel in color. It mixes very well with sherbet to make a tasty punch or drink it straight. However you serve it, Vernors has a distinct flavor and tastes great.
This one’s for you George.
