100 Degree’s In The Shade

On my way home today, I jumped into my Jeep and fired it up. It was hot as hell outside. Looking down at the instrument panel, I saw the temperature gauge. It was 100 degree’s “F” outside. Just last week, it was cold, in the 50′s and low 60′s, and rainy. This week, it is in the high 90′s and hazy.

Thank goodness the AC is powerful in the Jeep.

No Parking

On my way home from work during the 5pm rush hour, and with the green bridge closed, (A main artery to the city) and Market street, (Another main artery reduced to one lane traffic) and Boardman street (Reduced to one lane traffic) this jackass in the U.S. Mail truck parks in a goddamn no parking zone blocking one lane causing an even larger traffic snarl.

You my mail carrier friend are the winner of the Grassy Knoll Institute Ass Hat Award. Wear it with pride.

Eddie’s Grill – Geneva On The Lake

Eddie’s Grill is situated in the center of Geneva On The Lake and is one of the most famous eating establishments in the area. Everyone stops at Eddie’s Grill when visiting Geneva.

As you can see, Eddie’s Grill is a throwback 1950′s diner that serves great chili dogs, cheeseburgers, french fires, and it’s own style of pizza.

The photo above is a rare photo of the rear of Eddie’s Grill. Most people only see the front side, but the Grassy Knoll Institute covers all the angles.

Eddie’s Grill will be opening the second week of May and we plan on making the trek up weather permitting.

Last Ride On The Blue Streak

The Blue Streak Roller Coaster

Sadly, the Blue Streak coaster along with the entire Conneaut lake Park is in peril of being closed for good due to some unfortunate luck in late 2007 and early 2008.

In 2007, the park could not open due to insurance issues and some disputes over ownership. However, the park officials were hopeful that the park would be open in 2008.

Then a mysterious fire destroyed part of the midway buildings and the dance hall. More bad luck however as several of the parks rides were stored in the dance hall.

With the amusement park season quickly approaching, Conneaut and the Blue Streak again lay dormant.

The above picture is of my son in the back car, (The one with his tongue hanging out) on the Blue Streak, back car as it just came into the station finishing the ride.

Little did he realize that perhaps it was his last ride on the Blue Streak.

PS: The guy in the next car was an avid rider of the Blue streak. My son and I rode the coaster about a dozen times that day, but this guy rode it from the time the park opened to the time the park closed. He only stopped for bathroom breaks and food. (We know this for we weren’t stalking him, we asked him)
