St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, a day that celebrates the beauty, wonder, and the magic of Ireland and its people. On this day,
millions of people throughout the world become honorary Irish for the day by wearing green clothing, shamrocks and four leaf clovers, staging parades, singing Irish songs, dancing the Irish jig, telling good jokes, and partaking in a few pints of Guinness beer at the local pub all the while having a really good corned beef sandwich for lunch or dinner.

I actually have a question. I had a friend tell me that when St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland that it wasn’t just converting Celtic Pagans to Christianity, but there was a good amount of killing the Celtics involved. Any truth in that? Heck any rumor truth in that? Thanks.

Ron, St. Patrick really didn’t drive the snakes from Ireland.
During the ice age, Ireland was connected to England. When the ice receded, the erosion separated the island and hence, many European animals and lizards were not on the island.

    Hence no snakes.

Ireland never was connected to England, I utterly refute it, it is the biggest conspiracy theory of them all, if it were true wouldn’t we all be batshit barmy in England?

  4. LOTGK said

They were not connected by land mass, but by an ice bridge where marauders were able to ferry back and forth.
    England is safe.

SAFE, THE KID SAYS! ARE THE IRISH SAFE FROM THE ENGLISH, OR THE ENGLISH SAFE FROM THE IRISH? OR DO THEY BOTH GO BONKERS IF THEY MIX?
