Eddie’s Grill Cheeseburger- Geneva On The Lake

Eddies Grill - Geneva On The Lake
Eddie’s Grill is a classic iconic restaurant located at Geneva On The Lake, in Ohio. Established in 1950, Eddie’s Grill is a traditional lunch and dinner stop for thousands of returning patrons, young and old. Eddie’s captured the 1950′s diner mystique and hasn’t changed in all the years I have been eating there. Which is about 45 years now. Anyway, on to the food critique.
Last Friday Eddie’s was packed, (SRO) so we decided to get take out instead of waiting an hour for a table inside. There are some nice park benches and picnic tables just across the street so we would be fine.
As you can see, I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The cost was $6.05 which isn’t bad, not great, but not bad. The cheeseburger was hot, fresh, and very tasty. The patty was of course styled old school, meaning that the patty was smashed down on the grill instead of the pre-made pre-formed patties at most burger joints. The bun was fresh, sesame seeded and not soggy. The french fries were hot, well cooked, and tasted good.
I talked to a few patrons while standing in line and everyone of them said they have been coming to Eddie’s Grill for years. Every time they come to Geneva-On-The-Lake they make sure to stop at Eddie’s for lunch and or dinner. Now that is a testimonial.
The Grassy Knoll Institute scores 4.5 out of 5 shots and recommends Eddies Grill at Geneva On The Lake for lunch and dinner.

THAT DOESN’T LOOK ALL THAT MUCH BETTER THAN A WENDYS BURGER. i SUPPOSE IT IS BUT FROM THE LOOK AND THE RIP IN THE BUN, I’D SAY AVERAGE LOOKING BUT I HAVE TO TAKE YOUR WORD FOR THE TASTE.

It was excellent. A very good quality of beef. Prepared well, and the bun, although a little nicked, which may have been from me carrying it, was fresh and tasty.

The picture looks like steak n shake take out. You described a smashed down burger which is what steak n shake does.

Steak N Shake is on the same line, but not nearly as good.

Eddies is a cool place to eat. Haven’t been there in a while but remember the food. The hot dog buns are not really buns, but split bread rolls.
LOTGK said
Yes, the hot dog buns are split, pretty unique. And damn good.

That looks like Hell.
See, even I the annointed one can be humorous.

Yes you can.

Doesn’t look extravagant or special but obviously it has to have something for people to come back. And you are an accomplished critic right now, so your word matters

For sure, it doesn’t look like much, the take out presentation is not very good, but the taste, well, it is very good. And thank you for the kind words.

Serious, that is 6 dollars worth of food. I cheeseburger and a smattering of fries. It had better be good.

Keep in mind that it is a resort town, prices are elevated. However, A Big Mac and large fries costs about $5 dollars and let me tell you, there is no comparison in quality or taste when pitted against Eddie’s Grill.
